Sarah is a finalist for the AI award at The Relativity Innovations Awards 2024!
Meet Sarah Thompson, CEDS Thompson, where she puts the "eh" in AI. 🇨🇦 She’s the Chief Product Officer at BlueStar , and let me tell you, she is changing the game in legal technology. Sarah’s been a relentless innovator, using AI to tackle some of the toughest challenges in our field. Pssst...she develops AI-powered solutions! She is also a wonderful mother and thought leader. She loves to talk about AI. Her passion for it goes beyond being featured in articles, webinars, and education/training law enforcement and judges about AI, the good, the bad, and the unknown.
Her love for AI led her to develop BlueStar’s Next-Gen AI-Powered Solutions that integrate into Relativity, which solves real-world problems like transforming handwritten documents into searchable text, summarizing transcripts and medical records, identifying key objects in photos, and labeling violent video evidence with warnings. Sarah’s motto? “Not all problems are solvable with AI—yet, but let's give it a shot!” I think there might have been an “eh” somewhere in that motto...she can’t help it; she’s Canadian. LOL. That’s the kind of can-do spirit that makes her so special.
She also leverages AI in the Siemly platform she developed. It’s the first investigation tool to analyze activity and detect litigation events in Microsoft 365. Sarah’s background in forensic collections taught her the immense value of a custodian's activity timeline. By leveraging AI to analyze Microsoft activity, she’s helped organizations get ahead of potential legal issues and identify key evidence in real time, saving them tons in risk and litigation expenses.
Sarah is also a fierce advocate for the responsible use of AI in the legal field. Her most recent initiative educates law enforcement, attorneys, and judges about AI’s challenges and applications, tackling issues like deepfakes, evidence authentication, and AI bias. Her commitment to pro bono AI education is a testament to her belief in technology as a force for good. Her work has been recognized by platforms like CNBC, where she discussed AI and deepfakes in the courtroom with Rachel Curry. Sarah has also been on many panel discussions about AI in legal. In August, Sarah will speak on a CLE panel, “AI: Friend or Foe? Identifying and Defending Against Manipulated Media in eDiscovery”.
